Clean Energy Activist Meeting

A Skagit judge last week ordered that Shell must proceed with an environmental review of its oil-by-rail facility proposed for Anacortes. We’ll be discussing next steps against this project.

Once a month, RE Sources hosts a monthly meeting of grassroots activists in Whatcom and Skagit counties working to address the proposals to build coal and oil export facilities and efforts to build a clean energy future.

The agenda for this month’s meeting is always open to suggestions but so far includes the following:

Whatcom Charter Review election scheme and strategies for action
Neighborhood workshops on oil-by-rail proposals and next steps
Shell’s arctic oil drilling proposal and recent protest actions update
Environmental Impact Statement process for Shell’s oil-by-rail facility in Anacortes
Outcomes from the BlueGreen Waterfront Forum
“The Carbon Price is Right” climate action event, June 8
Carbon Washington initiative campaign update and opportunities for action
WWU divestment campaign update

Light refreshments, including cookies and homemade treats, will be served. Please let us know if you can help set up or take down the meeting!
